The final tally of participants in National Muffin day 2016 is 105. We may have a few additions, but are so inspired by the one hundred and five giving souls from the Bay Area, New York City, Sacramento, Seattle, D.C., Kentucky, Miami, Boston, Canada, and even Hong Kong who put on their aprons and baked delicious treats to give to the hungry. Sweet, savory, vegan, gluten-free, sugar-free…all diets were represented. How many total muffins was that – approximately 2,000.
All muffins will be matched by Jacob “Muffin Man” Kauffman who is donating $1050 to Project Homeless Connect. His law firm is matching his pledge, bringing the total to $2100. AND his dad is also matching this gift, bringing the total to $3,150.
But then here’s the icing on the muffin: because he is donating to PHC through HandUp.org, Google.org is matching his donation. This means that $6,300 is getting donated to Project Homeless Connect! This will support eye glasses, socks, state ID cards, dentures, and basic services to those who are most in need!
If you baked and gave, we want to hear stories. A muffin recipient who was particularly appreciative, an onlooker who said something supportive, the feelings you experienced when you looked somebody in the eye and handed him a muffin
When you have a moment, please email Jacob: jk.babylon at gmail.com to tell him about what National Muffin Day meant to you. THANK YOU to everybody who participated in National Muffin Day this year, and who has supported us in our quest to spread the muffin love. Take a look at our day here:
