Susan McPherson

We live in an imperfect world and together we can all make a difference…

Profession: Founder, McPherson Strategies

Twitter Handle: @susanmcp1

What was the first charitable gift you ever gave?:

To GreenPeace when I was 10! I also always raised hundreds as a Brownie and later a Girl Scout when selling cookies!

What is your charity of choice?:

There are so many!!, The Adventure Project, Acumen Fund, CauseCentric Productions, She’s The First, Donor’s Choose, GirlUp, and Nest.

Nest supports artisan’s around the world and completely provides the necessary guidance and tools so their businesses can grow and expand!

Who inspires you to give?:

My late mom inspired a sense of service and giving back always in me.

What motivates you to give?:

Everything around me. We live in an imperfect world and together we can all make a difference.

How do you give of your time?:

I share stories and showcase the good that others are doing through all my communications channels, online and offline.

If you could start your own charity, what would it be?:

Ideally, I’d love to create an organization for children who lost their parents to non-natural causes (fires, plane crashes, automobile accidents, murders.) I lost my own mother to a hotel fire before I was a full adult.

What advice do you have for others to consider giving?:

Follow your heart BEFORE your head….Yes, you should always give thought to what you are supporting, but if you are passionate about something, you will do more than give financially. You will support with everything you’ve got.
